17-year-old girl nabbed for kidnapping baby in Lagos

A 17-year-old girl, Chizoba Maduegbunam, suspected to be a child abductor has been arrested by the police in Lagos state.

The suspect was nabbed by community members on Thursday while attempting to abduct a child at Oto-Awori area of the state, Vanguard is reporting.

The residents subsequently took the suspect to the Oni- Ijanikin palace who handed her over to the Ijanikin Division of the state Police Command.

Lagos: government to demolish structures under high-tension cables

The Lagos State Government, LASG, has ordered owners of structures under high tension cables to remove them within seven days.

The LASG said buildings on the Right of Way, ROW, of high-tension electricity cables were dangerous, illegal and a source of serious concern to government.

News:Lagos advises residents on traffic diversion during Buhari’s two-day visit

The Lagos State Government has warned residents that there would be diversion in some routes when President Muhammadu Buhari visits the state on Monday and Tuesday.

A statement by the Commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde, quoted Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as urging residents to bear with law enforcement agents and traffic control authorities who will effect road diversions in some of the routes that the President motorcade will pass through during the visit.

Lagos: Berger bus-stop on Lagos-Ibadan way shut for bridge construction

Lagos State Government has said it would close the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at Berger Bus Stop for seven hours on Sunday (today).

This is to allow work on the construction of a pedestrian bridge at Berger Bus Stop of the expressway.

A satement by the Ministry of Works and Public Infrastructure said the closure would be between 5am and 12noon.
