Jide Kosoko’s wife, Henrietta, dies at 53
Yoruba actor and movie producer, Prince Jide Kosoko, has lost one of his wives, Henrietta Kosoko.
Henrietta, who was also an actress, was said to have died at the Sacred Heart Catholic Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta on Monday morning. She was 53-year old.
A source in the industry who pleaded anonymity said the actress developed complications after an automobile accident she had late last year, while travelling in her car.
The car reportedly suffered brakes failure and crashed, with Henriatta sustaining injuries in the head.

When the show was advertised at the end of 2015, there was a lot of excitement, only to be cut short by the reality that they would only audition in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
Top Actor Africa was a hit even before the auditions, thanks to the success of the South Africa-only edition. Ghanaians travelled to South Africa to audition, so did Ugandans ‒ to Kenya. But at the end of it all, the show had only two East Africans; Lorreine Wangui Gakuo and Alexander Eliab Khainga.
The big lots of contestants as it is known for shows flagged as ‘African’ were from Nigeria and South Africa. South Africa was represented by Shamilla Miller from Cape Town, Farrell Drew from Durban and Marilyn Sekgapane, Jesse Suntele, Hendrik Lombard, Simhle Belinda Plaatjies and Sabelo Sibeko from Johannesburg.
Nigeria was represented by Tobechi Nneji, Uriel Oputa and Ifeanyi Dike. After weeks of ‘blood and sweat,’ eliminations saw people forge alliances. The season finally came to an end with the winner being crowned on Tuesday night.
Entertainment: Police arrest Mercy Aigbe, brother in Osogbo

Popular Yoruba actress, Mercy Aigbe, was on Wednesday arrested by heavily armed policemen at the Olaiya Junction area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
A witness told our correspondent that the policemen fired three gunshots into the air before whisking the actress and her brother, who drove her in a Honda Accord car away to an unknown place.
Ogun: 19 states, 50 countries storm Ogun for Nigerian Drums festival
ABEOKUTA-No fewer than 60 countries including 10 African countries and 19 states across Nigeria have signified their intention to participate in the first Nigerian Drums festival organised by the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo stated this on Monday in Abeokuta during a press conference to herald the festival that begins today (Tuesday) and ends Friday. Read more>>

Daughter Of Jamaican Reggae Star Becomes Queen In Nigeria
Chanel Chin, whose father is Bobo Zaro, married King Adbul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi
THE DAUGHTER of Jamaican reggae star Bobo Zaro has ascended Nigeria’s social ranks to be crowned queen following her marriage to King Adbul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi earlier this year.
According to The Jamaica Gleaner, Chanel Chin, 32, is now queen of the Iwo Kingdom.
The royal couple met in Canada where the king resided before ascending the throne.
After becoming king in November last year, he took the title of the Imperial Oluwo of the Iwo Kingdom.
Chin’s father, real name Ludlow Chin, is known for his hit single Pain, a collaboration with Contractor and Capleton.
In an interview with The Gleaner, the newly-crowned Queen shared her excitement at the opportunity to represent Jamaica.........Read more>>
