An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kwara state on Thursday remanded in prison one Ogundele David who allegedly killed his lover, Miss Tosin Ashinwo.
David, a teacher at the Landmark University Secondary School, Omu-Aran, was said to have killed his 30-year-old lover after she turned down his marriage proposal.
According to the police report, the accused was at Ashinwo’s residence at Tanke, Ilorin, where he met the mother of the deceased, Abiola, 65, and made effort to convince the deceased and her mother to accept his marriage proposal.
The deceased was said to have refused the marriage proposal on the basis that David was a married man; however, the refusal of the marriage proposal infuriated the accused, who ran into the kitchen, picked a knife and allegedly stabbed Ashinowo to death.
